The DFW Airport Supplemental Electric Central Utility Plant expands critical utility infrastructure serving one of the world’s busiest airports. The Suffolk–3i Joint Venture is delivering a complex program of new construction and existing-plant modifications involving central HVAC equipment, major electrical distribution, integrated automation, water utilities, process piping, excavation, structural systems, architectural enclosures, and supporting site improvements.
The project includes integration with the existing Central Utility Plant, replacement and installation of pumps and heat exchangers, extensive chilled- and heating-water piping, electrical equipment and feeders, controls, commissioning, and utility connections. Work is sequenced around active airport operations and requires close coordination of shutdowns, temporary systems, safety controls, quality inspections, and operational turnover.
