Job Purpose Paragraph   

The Director of Construction works with other departments, divisions, and the Senior Management Team on all Organizational, Financial, and Construction projects. The Director of Construction is also involved in the hiring and training process(es), strategic planning, and policies and procedures. The person will direct construction functions and sequences of work to obtain optimum utilization of work force and meet production/revenue projections within budget.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Serve on the Executive Management Team.  
  • Review, Negotiate, and execute contracts on behalf of the company.  
  • Leads go no go, and bid review meeting.  
  • Ensures the coordination of build times and resolves outstanding construction items.  
  • Can interrupt, update, and compile WIP statements.  
  • Oversees Field Staff on all projects.  
  • Monitors Activities of Subcontractors.  
  • Assist in establishing safety practices for the worksites and construction personnel.  
  • Manages construction status reports.  
  • Manages building schedules to ensure on-time delivery.  
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance.  
  • Visits and reviews work sites at least twice weekly.  
  • Responsible for quality control, quality assurance, and all safety compliance.  
  • Mentor and develop construction personnel.  
  • Clearly establish performance expectations with direct reports and provide the support and direction they need to achieve the desired results.  
  • Responsible for analyzing project equipment needs.  
  • Review and recommend improvements.  
  • Review and approve all invoicing.  
  • Ensure projects are built on budget, on time, and in accordance with the quality standards established by the company.  
  • Oversee company equipment log and usage and track equipment locations and logistical issues.  
  • Oversee the coordination and tracking of all warranty items to completion and maintain accurate records.  
  • Monitor the use of company vehicles.  
  • All other related items and issues on each job for the company.

  • OSHA 30 Certification  
  • Procore Knowledge and Experience  
  • Proficient and Interpret Plans and Specs  
  • Bluebeam Experience  
  • Microsoft Office Suite Efficiency  
  • Presentation Skills  
  • Excellent written and Verbal Skills  
  • Full knowledge of Safety standards and enforcement.  
  • Cost Control Awareness

  • Understanding on a WIP  
  • Understand Construction Law    
 Requirements
  • 6 - 8+ years of relevant construction experience.  
  • 5 - 8+ years of related experience or equivalent role (Commercial, K-12, Higher Education, Multi Family, Municipality and Health Care construction experience, JOC, CSP, CMAR, Design Build).  
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field, or 8-10+ year in related role.  
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  
  • Has a strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams.
